Just for Fun

First of all, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Robbie, Jessie, Olive and Lucy Francis as they welcome baby Finn to their lives! What fun.

And this is just a little happy...I think these are so cute. Enjoy!

I did it!!!

Its true! I sprung for a new-to-me used sewing machine today. Thanks to Wendy for telling me about Shappley's! Great deals on previously owned models, and they even threw in a nice-sized box of embroidery thread. Certainly the nicest machine I have ever owned! It is actually on layaway...praying for the funds to magically appear soon enough for handmade Christmas gifts.

Sewing on a Sunday

Caution: graphic images ahead!!
I finished Izaiah's bucking bronco flannel PJ pants today...I really loved the fabric. Sam is anxiously awaiting his matching pair. I didn't love the pattern - it was one of those wal-mart 1.99 patterns. It's really wide in the leg - this was the size 6. If any of you have any experience with pattern brands, let me know! I am just starting to sew from patterns (used to wing it on my own) and I really didn't realize how different they can be. I am thankful to have these done!

First Day

Sam's first full day riding his bike. Mark showed him 3 times, and off he went. He is now asking, "Dad, can you build me a ramp??" Oh my. And as to why he has a winter hat on with his shorts and t-shirt - well, I suppose that's another story altogether.

And just a really cute one of Izaiah...

Bella's Poetry

Last week, Bella had to write two Limericks for her language arts work. It wasn't the easiest thing for her, but she was quite proud of these when finished:

There was an old man from New York
Who was quite a cork.
He was as angry as a witch
That's why he got a twitch!
He stabbed someone with a fork.

There once was a funny old bird
Who would never utter a word.
When he went to his nest,
He would often rest
As he thought about all he had heard.

Indian Summer

The last couple of weeks have been surprisingly normal around our home - its been a nice change. The weather has broken - cool mornings and days in the mid-80's. I know this isn't the 'true' definition of Indian Summer but it feels that way around here! We've had school at home Monday through Thursday, Friday swim classes at the YMCA, and Saturday soccer games. I have also been trying to make time to get some exercise - and when I do, I really enjoy it. We also have had time to gear up for our new community group structure -and we've added our dear friends, the Waggoners, to our group which is great fun. We have a new family living with us, the Chupps, and they are Amish. Bella and Izaiah have had so much fun riding the horses with them, and we are thrilled to see the horses out almost every day! I can't take pictures of the Amish kids, so I will share a more recent one of Bella on my mom's horse, Jasmine. (Thanks, Robin for touching it up!!) We really need to be praying for Irvin Chupp; he is very sick.
